Brief = create a new home for a downsizing couple in a wonderful location in the heart of Knightsbridge sandwiched between Harrods and Hyde Park. Challenges = Too many to list, from Grade II listing to need for extraordinary acoustics and waterproofing.
Process
In an age-old conflict between design specifications and building regulations, we ensured everything we did was to all-round satisfaction. We imported specialist acoustic insulation from Germany to comply with sound level requirements, installed out of the ordinary leak-prevention solutions, reinforced crumbling walls prior to Venetian polished plaster application, to name but a few.
Result
The finish was exactly as we hoped for - no surprises! Thanks to our conversational approach, the final result was precisely the way our clients envisaged it. It is now a beautiful home we hope will be enjoyed for many years to come!
